Dedicated to the memory of Tony
This page is a tribute to Antonio (Tony) Petrolito, who sadly passed away on 8th February 2025, aged 81 years.
Beloved husband of Maree, father of Lisa and Peter, grandfather of Henry and Charlotte and, father-in-law to Nick Edwards and Nick Lacey.
Born: Canicattini Bagni, Siracusa, Sicily on 27th March 1943
Tony emigrated to Melbourne, Australia at the age of 11 in 1954 with his mother (Maria) and sister (Serafina), his father having emigrated three years earlier to pave the way for a new future in Australia.
Tony met the love of his life, Maree, in 1958 at the age of 15 at a Carlton football match (Australian Rules). It was love at first sight and they married on 29th May 1965.
Tony had a great zest for life, the love of his family was his great passion along with his love of football (soccer), good food and wine, and music.
Tony was a successful businessman, a high-accomplished football referee and one of the nicest men you would ever have met.
Funeral for Tony
Tony's funeral service will take place at Holy Trinity Church, Minchinhampton on Monday 3rd March 2025 at 2pm.
